Barack Obam A New Leader - 1296 Words

After 9/11 the United States needed a new leader to make the U.S. a â€Å"powerhouse† again. This crisis was very devastating to everyone and the U.S. needed a leader who could help rebuild the country. The foundations of choosing a president is based on great leaders of the country over many years since the beginning. Ironically, Barack Obama does not meet any of these principles of a good leader. Obama is one of the most controversial presidents of all time because of his personal background, passed laws, and debatable decisions. Barack Obama is often questioned when talking about his background. Barack Hussein Obama II was born in August 4, 1961, in Honolulu, Hawaii. He grew up with his sister, Maya Soetoro-Ng, mother, Ann Dunham, grandfather, Stanley Armour Dunham, and grandmother, Madelyn Dunham. His father, Barack Obama Sr., left his family when Obama was ten years old. Barack Obama later found out that his father died in a car crash in Nairobi. Obama wanted to have a father in his life, but he would have to live without a father for the rest of his life. Stanley Armour Dunham took the role of being Barack Obama’s father by teaching him life lessons and guiding him throughout his schooling. After high school, Barack Obama attended Occidental College, Columbia Gombos 2 University, and Harvard Law School. While Obama was enrolled in Occidental College, he traveled to Pakistan for three weeks to visit college friends. Some people later questioned his alliances with Pakistan
